A Husband’s Duty

One of the greatest Bible verses that men need to remember when loving their wives, is the first part of Isaiah 53:4. It says, “Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows.” We, as men, are called to love our wives as Jesus loves the Church. This verse tells us that Jesus takes up the infirmities of His people, and carries our sorrows. We need to be doing this for our wives every day. I pose a question to you husbands out there. When your wife is suffering, do you take upon yourself her pain? When she is sad, perhaps from trauma in her past, do you provide her with a safe place for healing? Every marriage was designed by God to be a picture of Eden, a place where a husband and wife can be safe with each other in God’s presence. Give her the gift she was meant to receive through you by God’s grace and love. Just some food for thought on a blessed Saturday night. God bless you all.
